Overview
The Old Post Office Lodge offers 6 rooms situated directly above Pomodoro restaurant, in the heart of Wilderness. The accommodation is owned and managed by the same people as the popular restaurant below. The Old Post Office offers excellent value for individuals or couples, especially people staying on their own.
Location
This is the perfect location for anyone who wants to stay right in the middle of the central area of Wilderness. With the nearest restaurant literally downstairs, there are also many other restaurants and bars within just a minute or two’s walk. The beach is just under five minutes’ walk away.
All rooms have balconies with some having views of the main road. Due to the central location and proximity to restaurants and bars, it’s not the quietest place to stay, so please consider this if you are specifically looking for somewhere peaceful.
All of the rooms are on the first floor and a flight of stairs needs to be climbed to get to all rooms.
Accommodation Options
The six rooms at Old Post Office Lodge all have their own decorative theme, but offer similar features and amenities. All rooms have a double or queen bed, with some rooms having the option of twin beds. The rooms all have an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath.
The rooms have a kettle and small fridge. Fans and a safe are provided, and free Wi-fi and DSTV (satellite TV) are also included.
Meals
Breakfast is included in the price, and is provided in Pomodoro restaurant downstairs. There is a choice from a menu including a full English breakfast.
Other meals are not included, but Pomodoro is open all day and evening, plus there are many other Wilderness restaurants within just a short walk.
Facilities
The rooms at the Old Post Office Lodge do not have any shared facilities as such, but needless to say the restaurant downstairs includes a bar if you are in need of a drink!
If you need any assistance relating to your accommodation, the staff in Pomodoro restaurant will be happy to assist.
House Rules
Check in time is between 2pm and 8pm. Check out is before 11am. Children are welcome but pets are not allowed.
Room cleaning from Monday to Saturday is included in the price.
Getting There
From the N2, take the main Wilderness turn next to the Caltex garage. Follow the road round to the right into the heart of Wilderness village, and you will very soon see Pomodoro restaurant (with the Old Post Office Lodge above it) on your left. Turn left immediately before Pomodoro, then turn almost immediately right and you will see the parking reserved for Old Post Office Lodge guests.
