Overview
Views Boutique Hotel and Spa is a beautiful upmarket hotel in Wilderness with stunning views over the Indian Ocean. It has its own spa and restaurant and is the perfect location for a relaxing stay, where all your needs can be luxuriously catered for.
Location
The hotel is located right on the top of the cliff above the beach and ocean. You can walk almost directly from the hotel down the wooden steps onto the beach (bear in mind that the cliff is quite high and hence there are quite a lot of steps).
Although the hotel has its own restaurant that is open for all meals, it’s only a 5 minute drive to the central part of Wilderness with its small shops and many cafes, restaurants and bars.
As the name of the hotel would suggest, the views from the sea facing rooms are spectacular across the Indian Ocean. There are some rooms that do not face the sea which are available for a lower rate.
The hotel has a lift and therefore all rooms are accessible for wheelchair users.
Accommodation Options
Views Hotel has 26 rooms. These are made up of one penthouse, one self-catering suite, 17 suites and 7 “standard” rooms. Many of the rooms are sea facing, although some have a view towards the Outeniqua mountain range instead. The non-sea facing rooms cost less per night.
All rooms are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities and a minibar. The self-catering suite has a fully equipped kitchen. Every room has a private bathroom with a separate bath and shower.
There are private balconies in part of all sea facing rooms. All rooms have an air-con and heating unit and a safe. The hotel also offers access to complimentary Wi-fi, DSTV (satellite TV) and Netflix in all rooms.
Meals
Views restaurant (also open to the general public) is part of the hotel. It is open all day for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. So if you are looking for a really relaxed stay there is actually no need to leave the hotel, as all your needs are catered for on site.
For hotel guests, a choice from the breakfast menu (including full English breakfast) is included as part of your stay. Lunch and dinner and snacks are charged additionally. Views restaurant offers a contemporary menu (and, not surprisingly, great views over the sea).
The hotel also has a bar that is part of the restaurant and is open most of the day. There is a cocktail deck with sun loungers overlooking the ocean. If you want to try out other restaurants, cafes or bars during your stay, the main town area of Wilderness has a great selection and is only five minutes drive away.
Facilities
The hotel has a reading lounge that includes a rotating aquarium. There are 2 swimming pools – an outdoor one and an indoor heated pool. The spa complex also offers a gym, sauna and Jacuzzi. Spa treatments are available at extra cost.
Views Hotel reception is open 24 hours.
House Rules
Check in time is from 2pm and check out time is by 11am.
Children over 7 are allowed, but strictly only 2 people may stay in each room. There are a few inter-leading rooms available that could be used by families. Pets are not allowed.
Getting There
Views Hotel is easy to find, as it is very close to the only traffic circle (roundabout) on the main N2 road in Wilderness. If travelling eastbound from George, turn right at the traffic circle, which is a little over 2km (just over a mile) past the main Wilderness village turn. If travelling westbound from Knysna, turn left at the traffic circle, which is a just over 1km (just under a mile) after the Kleinkrantz turn. At the next small circle take the 2nd exit, then continue straight and you will find Views at the end on the left.
Free parking is available at the hotel.
