Wilderness Camping

There are four different options for camping in Wilderness. Our top recommendation is to consider the Wilderness Ebb & Flow Rest Camp.  This is shown in the photo below and is situated in the National Park.

Camping is also available at Fairy Knowe Backpackers, on the edge of the National Park, and at The Wild Farm Backpackers, in the “heights” area above Wilderness. For more information on both of these, take a look at our page about backpacking accommodation in Wilderness.

Another alternative is Island Lake Holiday Resort, also situated in the National Park area. This offers 55 camping stands, on the edge of Island Lake. It’s a great location for boating or bird watching. From here it’s about a ten minute drive to the main area of Wilderness, or a bit less to the beach.
